Debra is experienced legal counsel who practices in all areas of employment, labour, and human rights law as well as administrative law matters. She takes pride in providing practical and straightforward legal advice on complex workplace issues including, disability and attendance management, workplace investigations, discipline and performance management of unionized and non-unionized employees, health and safety obligations, privacy responsibilities and interpretation and application of collective agreements. Debra is an experienced litigator with a successful track record of representing clients in grievance arbitrations, civil proceedings and matters before human rights bodies.
Prior to joining Lidstone& Company Debra held the position of Senior Legal Counsel with a large Federal Crown Corporation with unionized and non-unionized employees. Debra brings with her a depth of experience navigating and advising on workplace disputes in contentions labour relations environments. Debra understands the importance of knowing her clients’ particular workplace and strategic goals when providing advice. Debra works proactively with her clients to ensure they understand their workplace obligations, and to implement strategies that minimize risk and best position them should a dispute arise.
Outside of work Debra enjoys spending time with her family and friends and exploring all that British Columbia has to offer.
